For a bunch of squares, that is our first impression of the OS.  We are basing this purely on a visual basis.  It has a bunch of squares for apps and functions, and no design.  To be honest it looks like their Windows phone which hasn't caught on.  I assume it is run this way, so the experience between Windows devices are the same.  This is good in theory, we just find the design lackluster and if a lot of people can't get behind it it will fail against the powerhouses of mac and android.  Of course, this is an android tablet sight so we may be bias.

But, we are also Windows computer people over Mac, so we will be interested to see what Eight has to offer.

Anyway, Junish to Septemberish or Octoberish will bring us these tablets from Acer and Lenovo.  Hearsay?  Who knows.

Unfortunately, it doesn't add up to what you might want.  It's only running on 2.3 os which is not the newest.  No 3g, but wifi is available.

However, there are some pros.  It has a 5 star rating on Light In The Box.  It has a 1.2ghz processor, 1080p, WIFI, touchscreen tablet, and can run the latest apps and Skype.  Not the best deal available at the moment, but ratings on other sites don't lie.

In this case start it with an asterisk and call it *ainol and you know you have a winner. But whether it will be called ainol, novo 7, novo7, paladin, knight, Paladin, or magical unicorn express is not what matters.

What matters is the features, specifications, and details.

This small 2.2 pound pc runs Windows 7 and has both the features of a netbook and a tablet, but shared, not separate. This quirky device will slide flat to work as a tablet, or prop up normal like a laptop.

It has a 10.1 inch screen, 1.5 GHz Intel Atom Z670 Oak Trail processor, and 2 gb of ram. The medium size 32gb ssd hard drive is big for a tablet, small for a netbook.

The small 3 cell battery with the more power hungry software of Windows 7 leaves the battery life something to be desired.

Despite its shortcomings the tablet pc/netbook is a fun computer that is the right size with enough juice to provide wireless surfing, game playing, and text processing.

Battery life is shorter, but other cool features are ethernet port for wired hookup, usb ports, and more.

User reviews on this tablet are generally positive, with the major complaint being size and battery life, but keeping in mind the different use of this tablet as an office work device rather than play, will surely help you make up your mind.

We give the company credit for innovation in almost every way. A swivel web camera design, a raised end to prop the tablet up at a comfortable angle (think of the Apple keyboard design), which also hides a speaker. They say the design is based on "sacred geometry". We won't argue or support this.

It runs an okay length of about 6 hours. It houses a powerful NVIDIA Tegra 250 Dual Core Cortex A-9 processor, and a powerful enough GPU for video and games.

We wish they would have spent time in innovating on their software. Even with the future promise of apps, the software falls short of what consumers expect. They are listening though, and have had one overhaul design of the software, but it is still not where it needs to be.

If you have $375 - 549 dollars to pay and want something as an alternative to the norm, than the Notion Ink is something to consider. However, if you want Android, apps, and what you are used to, this innovative tablet is not for you.

People love the features like a 4 hour battery life, responsive ram memory and hard drive support. The 10 inch screen is okay, and everyone loves the apps and Android operating system.

Beyond that, the Superpad is not the best especially as tablet pcs evolve. The biggest complaint is a non-responsive, or rather slow response touchscreen. So it works, but sometimes there is lag. So it is best when performance is optimum.

The price varies widely on this tablet, from $203 on Amazon to $125 - $300 on eBay. Unless you can get this one for a super deal, skip it for something newer and nicer.

The Xyboard is the rebranded solution to Motorola's Xoom, a good tablet but not yet refined.  The Xyboard appears to work out some of these kinks of the predecessor, and gets one more step to perfection.  Most notably in this model is increased visual display, slim design, and the ability for easier interaction between your other entertainment devices.  Using DIJIT you can use the device as a remote, or you can sync content to your tablet.

Other impressive features include nano coated screen that repels water (. . .and evil!) 2g,3g, and 4g compatibility, and an improved faster dual core 1.2ghz processor.  This tank is fast and strong enough to handle any video, game, or app you throw at it.

Now that the praises are out of the way, there are some downfalls.  It is running Honeycomb 3.2, but the true Android fan will want to upgrade to 4.0.  Also, and this is a doozy, is the price.  The 16gb version starts at $899, which will be a deal buster for most as this price range also makes the iPad accessible.

If it weren't for price, the Xyboard may just be the device to compete with iPad.  For those that don't want Apple, the Xyboard is a high end tablet to seriously consider.

This 8.2 inch tablet is super slim and super sexy.  It does super awesome stuff versus the many tablets we review on here.  But it does come at a price.

Some of the atypical features to get excited about is the Gorilla Corning glass for super vibrant color and display and water protection.  Also, running the latest Android (upgradeable to) is another nice feature that most tablets don't do and can't support.

Another great feature is the size.  It is more comparable in size to the nook or kindle fire, being the size of a paperback book, except much thinner.

Other exciting features have to do with sound.  This little device can pump out surround sound audio and it also provides DIJIT software which allows you to control your tv and home stereo system.  Now, you can be lazier than ever as your robot does the work for you.

Another great service is the ability to sync between your other devices.  however, if the content is DRM it won't appear on the screen, which is a negative, but we understand why this feature is not there.

This device comes in either a 16gb or 32 gb model, and starts at a price of $799.99 which is the only downfall.  If you hook up 3g services however, your damage is lowered to $429.99 and you can get a contract through Verizon Wireless.
